History:

Discoverer: Mosander (C.G.Mosander)

Discovery year: 1843

Discovery process: In 1843, it was discovered by Mosander (C.G.Mosander). He originally named the oxide of erbium as terbium oxide. Therefore, in early German literature, terbium oxide and erbium oxide were confused. It was not until after 1860 that it was corrected.
